Dhyana Kaufman, M.A. Dhyana Kaufman , M.A., Mental Health Counseling,
Western New Mexico University, 2007.

In troubled times we may lose our connection with our inner wisdom - the source of our personal power and healing. Dhyana's therapeutic approach respectfully targets the source of problems that manifest as unfulfilling patterns in our lives, and also develops and strengthens clients' inner knowing. As the old patterns unknot and transform, feelings of well-being, peace, and purpose may be restored. Life unfolds naturally.

Her therapeutic approach centers on the belief that we come into our full-flowering when we live our lives with the freedom and authenticity that are our birthrights.

Dhyana has developed a unique combination of talk therapy and energy medicine/integrative healing that supports and empowers clients to make real changes in their lives. In this safe therapeutic environment, clients may work deeply on core issues. Her style is intuitive, eclectic and client-centered.

Some of the pathways she incorporates include: heart-centered hypnotherapy; guided meditation and visualization; mindfulness, relaxation and breathwork; chakra, inner child, and Jungian-influenced dream work; and expressive arts therapy. Before earning a Masters degree (M.A.) in Mental Health Counseling, Dhyana practiced as an energy healer for many years.

Her practice includes individual and group therapy. She also sees children, using sand tray and play therapies.

Ron Robinson, D.C. Ron Robinson , D.C.  Licensed chiropractic physician.  Western States Chiropractic College, 2005.

Dr. Ron Robinson graduated cum laude from Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon. While there, he received a comprehensive education in chiropractic manipulation, diagnosis, exercise, nutrition, rehabilitation, soft tissue therapies, and x-ray interpretation. Dr. Robinson's philosophy of chiropractic is based on the concept that the body has recuperative, self-healing capabilities, and that there is a correlation between skeletal structure and optimal bodily function. The interdependence of structure and function, and the relationship between the nervous system - particularly the spine - and the rest of the body is the core element of his approach to healing and wellness. This indicates that the first line of intervention for conservative care is to assure biomechanical integrity, with pharmaceutical and/or more invasive care being utilized only after conservative options have been employed.

Janeta Fong Tansey, M.D., Ph.D. Janeta Fong Tansey , M.D., Ph.D.  Licensed physician.
M.D., Loyola Stritch School of Medicine (1995). Psychiatry residency, University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. Board-certified in Psychiatry and Neurology. Ph.D., Religious Studies, University of Iowa (2008).

There have been remarkable strides in neuroscience in the last several decades, but these have sometimes come at the cost of appreciating that mental health is a dynamic reflection of a balanced body, mind, and spirit within a community of care. Recognizing that mental wellness has as much to do with the realization of one's values, meaning, and purpose as it does with careful medical diagnosis and symptom relief must transform the practice of modern psychiatry. In that spirit, psychiatric practice at Integrative Psychiatry of Iowa, P.C. takes a holistic view of the causes of mental distress and its healing modalities.

Dr. Tansey served on the faculty at the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine from 1999-2009. An abiding interest in ethics and spirituality led to her doctorate in Religious Studies. Her scholarship in the area of integrative psychiatry and bioethics continues to shape her teaching and clinical practice. She is committed to the ethical integration of evidence-based neuroscience with values-oriented healing. The judicious and experienced use of neuropsychiatric diagnosis and medication is combined with careful attention to the experiences and values that shape the whole person. Treatment strategies are designed to be collaborative and compassionate, focusing on insightful living and preventative care.

Integrative Psychiatry of Iowa, P.C. uses a fee-for-service model and does not contract with third-party payers, although a receipt of payment will be provided for patients who wish to submit claims to their insurers or spending accounts.
